Give Me Some Lip & Liner Swatches

Yesterday I showed you an overview of the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Lip & Liner Set with all of the amazing lip products included, but today I want to break down the swatches. I have swatches of the lipsticks and glosses in this set, and broke them down into two sets of five to show.

As I mentioned in my last post, a lot of these are brand new to me. I have tried NARS Cruella, and a few of the brands included, but the actual lip products and colours are completely new to me. That was really exciting for me to check them all out and see how the formulas are. Overall I am really happy with the variety and options included in this Give Me Some Lip & Liner set and am already enjoying all of these new lip products.

Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Lip & Liner Set

Recently I have posted about the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Lip Set and the additional Give Me Some Bold Lip Set, which had a mix of 6 lip products in deluxe mini and full sizes for around $30. Today I have a bigger set to show you that follows the same theme. The Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Lip & Liner Set has 14 lip products in the set, which retails for $72 on the sephora.ca site.

Out of the 14 products there are 4 full size items and 10 deluxe minis. Out of all the items there are 2 glosses, 2 enhancers, 5 lipsticks and 5 coordinating lip liners. For the price tag this is super reasonable, as the full size items actually cots $26, $29, $15, and $25 each, which totals to $95 alone, not including any of the deluxe minis. On the Sephora site it says the total value of the box is $222.

Aside from being a great deal to get a range of products, it happens to have a wide variety of brands, colours, and finishes for any lip lover. Since I recently bought the other two lip sets I wasn’t sure that the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Lip & Liner set would be that different but it definitely is. With lots of colours to pick from I feel set for a long time with my lipstick options.

My October Ipsy Glam Bag

I am a little late in the month but today I have my October Ipsy Glam Bag to show you. As with previous glam bags I have gotten, I do like some items and others I am not in  love with. I think I need to review the items I get so I can tweak my future bags.

This month the actual bag is a really cute Halloween theme bag. It is pale pink with little black designs on it that are really festive and cute. I typically don’t like Halloween but this is cute enough that even I love the look of the bag!

Read on to see what I think of the items in my bag!

Nude Liquid Lipsticks: Drugstore Dupe?

When I first heard about the Maybelline New York LipStudio Color Jolt Intense Lip Paints (one of which I reviewed here) I heard about a few possible dupes to some Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipstick shades. One of those shades in question was the Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Melted Chihuahua, (shown here) which was meant to be pretty close to the Maybelline Color Jolt in the shade Stripped Down. With one being much more affordable than the other (hello Maybelline!) I decided to put them to the test and see if they really were a match. Let’s take a look at this drugstore vs. high end comparison and see if we really have a dupe with these popular nude liquid lipsticks shade.

The Maybelline Color Jolt lipstick is a pretty new launch and just came on the market a few months ago. It retails for about 10 dollars. The Too Faced lippie I am showing is a deluxe mini size which is but the real size is retails for about 25 dollars. Right away the Maybelline one is a better choice for my bank account, but it all depends on the colour to see if they are dupes.

Quick NOTD: Purple Swirl Nail Art

All my life I have always wanted beautiful long nails but it has taken me a lot of work to get them. I have to be very careful and once one breaks I end up going weeks with short nails. I recently broke one right on the side of the nail and decided that instead of cutting them all down I would be risky and try to reshape all my nails. I’ve always loved the look of almond nails so I took my time and attempted to file mine, and was really pleased with the result. I actually loved the shape on its own (even though it isn’t a perfect almond style) but I decided to spice it up with some purple swirl nail art.

This nail art was so simple to do but combined with my new almond nail shape I think it looks super fancy and I’m really pleased. The silver contrasts so well against the purple and I love the delicate swirl design.

What I used to get this look

The items I used for this purple swirl nail art look are the following items:

  • Zoya Savita for the purple base
  • Essie Loophole for the silver stamp colour
  • Konad Square Image Plate #14 for the design
  • Konad stamper and scraper
  • Base coat and top coat

Side note: Zoya Savita is actually a matte nail polish but once I finished the design I did a top coat so it went shiny. It is a beautiful colour both ways but with the stamping it needed some shine.

Overall this purple swirl nail art took only a few minutes to complete but looks really nice. I love the swirly design on the almond nails, and I love the almond nails on their own so I definitely plan to keep this shape for a while and experiment with more nail art.

The Joe Fresh Neutrals Eye Shadow Palette is Amazing

Okay I have some big beauty news! Over the past few months, after getting the awesome Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette, I have been debating on getting another Naked palette. I wanted something with neutrals and golds in it but wasn’t sure if I was willing to spend the $66 on a Naked palette. I am so glad I didn’t because I found the most amazing drugstore dupe that costs only $14 and has all of the wonderful neutral shades I wanted. The Joe Fresh Neutrals eye shadow palette is everything I wanted and has some incredibly beautiful colours for such a great price!

The Joe Fresh Neutrals palette has 12 eye shadows in it and all of them are really great. They don’t have names which is totally fine, but to help label them and talk about my favourites I decided to number them. Almost every single one was super pigmented and very smooth to apply. with the exception of one or two lighter shades.

The Joe Fresh Neutrals palette is a great drugstore dupe for an Urban Decay Naked palette
