The Smashbox Lipstick Survival Kit

Good morning! Today I have a really fun full-size lip kit to talk about, and it’s from a brand that I don’t normally have a lot of. This is the Smashbox Lipstick Survival Kit, which retails for $59 CAD and has a value of $179. This kit has 7 full-size lip products including lipsticks, lip liners, and a lipstick transformer.

What products are in the Smashbox Lipstick Survival Kit?

A peek inside the Smashbox Lipstick Survival Kit

This kit comes with three of the Smashbox Be Legendary lipsticks. The three shades are Witchy Cream, Cognac Cream, and Stylist Matte.

There are also three of the Smashbox Always Sharp Lip Liners included. These shades are Figgy, Nude Medium, and Clear.

The last product in the Smashbox Lipstick Survival Kit is a really cool one. It is the Smashbox Insta-Matte Lipstick Transformer. This transformer is a clear formula that you can apply over any creamy lipstick and turn it into a matte finish. I love matte formulas so this was one of the most exciting pieces of this lip kit.

Let’s see the swatches!

Swatches of Smashbox Be Legendary Lipsticks in shades Stylist Matte, Cognac, and Witchy

Swatches of Smashbox Be Legendary Lipsticks in shades Stylist, Cognac, and Witchy

The three Be Legendary Lipsticks all had great formulas. They were smooth and easy to apply, and they all had good coverage and colour. I went over Witchy twice to get more intense payoff, but the other two were one swipe and I was good to go.

From L-R: Smashbox Always On Lip Liners in Medium Nude (top), Figgy (bottom), and lipsticks in Stylist, Cognac, and Witchy

I didn’t swatch the clear one but the other two liners in the Smashbox Lipstick Survival Kit were incredible. The have a great sharp tip, had very smooth and opaque formulas, and glided on so easily. I really like both colours.

The last item was the one I was most excited about but after trying it I am not as thrilled. It is a neat concept and the product was pretty good, but I didn’t see a huge difference. The Smashbox Insta-Matte Lipstick Transformer was a slightly thicker consistency and glided over the two creamy shades. The tube tells you to blend with your finger until you get a matte finish, but I felt like I was mushing around the colour and almost wiping it off in some cases. It did make a difference to the shine of the two lipsticks, but not so significant that I would now call them matte. Hopefully that makes sense!

The Smashbox Insta-Matte Lipstick Transformer seemed to just smudge the two cream shades

Overall I do think the Smashbox Lipstick Survival Kit has some great quality lip products and some very nice shades, which I can see working on a lot of skin tones. The only item I wasn’t impressed with was the Transformer, but the three lipsticks and three lip liners do seem to make this kit worth it if you are looking for a few lip basics that have good formulas and opacity.

Sephora Favorites Give Me Some New Lip Kit

OMG look what I have! It’s the brand new Sephora Favorites Give Me Some New Lip Kit! If you read my blog you know how much I love the lip kits, and I think I have almost every single one from the past few years. I love the opportunity to get mini sizes and try different brands for one reasonable price. These kits has some great variety and I have loved a lot of the past ones, so of course I has to pick up this new one.

The new Sephora Favorites Give Me Some New Lip Kit

The new Sephora Favorites Give Me Some New Lip Kit

This kit has 3 deluxe mini size lip products and 2 full-size ones. Many of the past kits in the lip shaped box have had 6 items total but this one only has 5. They are different brands and some more unique items, so maybe that was a reason for the change. This kit also comes in a different box, which is kind of cute. I do love the lip shaped ones I have but this little box is a nice way to switch it up. Either way I am very excited about the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some New Lip Kit!

Let’s see what’s inside!

All 5 items in the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some New Lip Kit

All 5 items in the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some New Lip Kit

The Sephora Favorites Give Me Some New Lip Kit has the following 5 products included:

  • 0.07 oz/ 2 mL Huda Beauty Lip Strobe in Snobby
  • 0.07 oz/ 2 g Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Liquid Lip Crayon in Night Mauves
  • 0.13 oz/ 4 mL Smashbox Always On Metallic Matte in XO, Vlada
  • 0.21 oz/ 6 g treStiQue Mini Plumping Lip Balm in Barbados Berry
  • 0.035 oz/ 1 g Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick in Candy Venom

The full size products are the Marc Jacobs Le Marc Liquid Lip Crayon and the Smashbox Always On Metallic Matte. I was super curious about the Marc Jacobs one since a crayon format liquid lipstick just seems so contradictory I had to fond out what it was all about.

I was thrilled to see a Huda Beauty Lip Strobe in this kit, since that is one product I have had my eye on for a while. I wasn’t ready to shell out $23 for a full size one but to have a mini in this kit was perfect. I have also never tried anything by Fenty Beauty yet, so this will be neat to check out a mini Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick.

Take a look at the swatches of the 5 lip products included in the kit!

Swatches from bottom to top: Trestique, Marc Jacobs, Fenty, Smashbox, Huda Beauty

Swatches from bottom to top: Trestique, Marc Jacobs, Fenty, Smashbox, Huda Beauty

I felt a little minty tingle with the Trestique balm, and it has a nice soft light shade. The Marc Jacobs Liquid Lip Crayon is insanely smooth and creamy. It just glides on and felt so good, and it was very opaque. The Fenty matte lipstick was also very opaque and had such a nice bold colour with a one-swipe formula. The Smashbox lipstick is very metallic but the matte finish makes it more wearable, and the Huda Beauty strobe is just stunning. The flecks of pink and gold in it are amazing and it truly is a unique and gorgeous lip topper.

Another shot of swatches from bottom to top: Trestique, Marc Jacobs, Fenty, Smashbox, Huda Beauty

Another shot of swatches from bottom to top: Trestique, Marc Jacobs, Fenty, Smashbox, Huda Beauty

I have to say this kit seems to be full of variety. There are brands that are not usually included in these Favorites sets, and interesting formulas as well. Usually these kits have a theme, like nude lips of bold lips, but this one mixes it up. A metallic matte, a sparkly lip topper, a plumping balm, and more. I love how different each item is and I actually like that there seems to be no official theme. Unless perhaps the theme is “New”, since it is Give Me Some New Lip and all of these products are pretty recent launches.

Overall the value of the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some New Lip Kit seems to be pretty good, since the two full-size items alone would be $34 (Marc Jacobs) and $28 (Smashbox). The kit is only $33 so I think it’s a good way to try a couple trendy items and brands without breaking the bank on a bunch of full-size items.

I am really happy with the lip kit and am excited to use every single product in the set!

The last batch of my 25 Days of Beauty

Good morning and hello 2018! I cannot believe how fast time has flown by! I meant to finish up my 25 Days of Beauty fake advent calendar, but I have been so busy over the holidays. I actually ended up only getting to share 23 products, but I wanted to finish this out. Today I have products 16-23 to share and discuss, but I won’t be using the photos for all of them. If you are interested they are on my Instagram so you can see more over there!

These last products are the same as before – items I really really love or something exciting that I just had to show you. Most of them are quite old, but some are newer favourites or things that really surprised and impressed me. Let’s get right into my last group of the 25 Days of Beauty products!

Day 16) Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture Perfume: This one was one that really surprised me. I have always seen how popular Juicy Couture scents are but have never once smelled or tried one myself. I got this as a sample through Influenster and was so impressed by the yummy, sweet, vanilla candy smell. I don’t know what I was expecting but I really really liked this one and over the past 2 months I have been wearing it a lot.

Viva La Juicy Perfume

Day 17) Dr. Paw Paw Original Balm: I got this a long time ago in a subscription box and have been using it every night. It has a very unique feeling, and it is a creamy balm so it may take time to get used to, but it is not greasy or oily at all. It sinks right into my hands and I use it so often.

Day 18) Ciate London Liquid Velvet Lipstick in shade Pin Up: I got this from an Ipsy bag and have been absolutely obsessed with it ever since. I love the colour of it but more importantly the formula is incredible. It lasts all day long, through coffee, pizza, snacks, drinks, and more. It applies easily and smoothly, doesn’t dry out my lips, and is one of my all-time favourite lip products.

Day 19) Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly Palette: I got this as a gift last Christmas and I still use it a lot. I have brown eyes so I have always liked gold tones and purples to accent them, so this palette seems like it was made for me. You can see my full review on the palette here.

Day 20) Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer: I had heard so many great things about this bronzer for months and months before actually purchasing one myself. Once I did though I saw exactly what all the fuss was about – it is amazing! Super soft and easy to work with, and it gives a nice glow to the skin without any shimmer or glitter. I use this almost every day and love how it looks, and the yummy tropical scent is a total bonus!

Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer

Day 21) ColourPop SuperShock Shadow in shade Un: This is by far my favourite ColourPop product I own. This is such a lovely light golden shimmer and I use it so often. I swipe it all over my lid as a quick look, or use it as an inner corner or brow bone highlight with other looks. The formula is amazing, the colour is awesome, and the price was great. The only problem is that I think it was from a limited edition collection and now I can’t find it on the site to repurchase.

ColourPop SuperShock Shadow in shade Un

Day 22) Tarte Tarteist Quick Dry Lip Paint in shade Fomo: I love these Tarte lip paints and have a bunch of minis in different colours. I have been using this pretty shade a lot lately and I love the colour, long-wearing formula, and light application. It has a whipped texture so it feels very light to apply and wear, but it lasts for hours and is very pigmented.

Day 23) CoverGirl Oh Sugar! Lipstick in shade Gumdrop: This is a lighter semi-sheer lipstick that I use more as a balm. It really make my lips feel moisturized and soft, which is great in the cold weather. I like the purple hue because it leaves my lips with a nice berry tone flush of colour, without anything heavy or too thick.

There we have it, the remaining items in my 25 Days of Beauty products. I did not make it to Day 24 and 25 since it was all over the place at about 5 different family events for Christmas, but I hope you enjoyed the 23 items I did share this month.

After these 25 Days of Beauty I am now ready to jump into 2018 and discover all new favourites for the upcoming year. Leave me a comment and let me know some of your favourite beauty products from the past year!

25 Days of Beauty: 11 to 15

Today we have the third set of products from my 25 Days of Beauty Made-Up Advent Calendar! I have been posting a product everyday on Instagram that I really love, use often, or otherwise want to feature this month. I post them in groups of 5 over here so that I can go into more detail and give mini reviews of each item.

Quo Cosmetics Makeup Setting Spray

Today we have items 11 to 15 from my 25 Days of Beauty, which means we have passed the halfway point! Let’s take a look at this group of products!

Day 11) Quo Cosmetics Make-Up Setting Spray: This setting spray is my go-to pick for making my makeup look more like skin. I think it gives a great natural finish and it helps lock my look in place all night.

Day 12) Bite Beauty Multistick in shade Mochi: I love this little multistick even though I tend to use it mainly on my lips. It does work as a nice cream blush if you blend it out, but my favourite way to wear it is to dab it onto my lips using my finger, and blend it out for a softer look. This method helps it stay on like a stain and I get so many hours of wear with this soft matte lip colour.

Bite Beauty Multistick in shade Mochi

Day 13) Charmed Aroma Mango Coconut Body Butter: I love the scent of this and I love the formula too! It’s so creamy and softening, and leaves my skin feeling extremely supple. I use this all over and love the tropical smell it leaves. It also came with a ring which was super fun!

Charmed Aroma Mango Coconut Body Butter

Day 14) Tarte Cosmetics Make Believe In Yourself Eyeshadow Palette: This palette is so shimmery and beautiful for the holidays. I love using these shadows for a night out, and I find them very creamy to work with. This may be more of a special occasion palette as opposed to everyday, but I do use it quite often for evening looks.

Tarte Make Believe in Yourself Palette

Day 15) L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche La Lacque and Le Matte Lipsticks in shades 201 Lacque-y Charm and 106 Mad For Matte: I use both of these lipsticks so frequently that I am surprised there is anything left in them. I absolutely love the shade Lacque-y Charm and it is a gorgeous everyday rosy hue. It glides on super smoothly and has a glossy, creamy formula that isn’t tacky or sticky at all. Mad For Matte is also very smooth and not drying at all. It’s a great matte red that isn’t too thick, isn’t crumbly, and is super opaque.

25 Days of Beauty: The Next Five

Julep Blank Canvas Mattifying Primer

I recently posted about my first five products I picked for my own little beauty advent calendar for 25 Days of Beauty, and today I have the next five items. I already posted these on Instagram but this gives me a little more room to expand on the items and why I chose them. Let’s jump right into it!

Day 6) Julep Beauty Blank Canvas Mattifying Treatment Primer: I love how smooth and creamy this primer feels. It is super soft to apply and makes mys kin feel baby soft, and it keeps some of my shine away. It doesn’t get rid of it entirely, but it definitely helps the longevity of my makeup and keeping my T zone less shiny through the day and night.

Day 7) 7th Heaven Charcoal Peel-Off Face Mask: This mask helps to purify and detoxify skin, and I love the peel-off method. It leaves my skin feeling clear and refreshed.

7th Heaven Charcoal Peel-Off Mask

Day 8) Too Faced Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation: I absolutely love this foundation, for so many reasons! It has a great colour match for me (Sand) and has a lovely formula, matte finish, and yummy peachy scent. I really like this foundation and feel like it lasts for hours and hours while still looking good and controlling my shiny skin.

Too Faced Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation

Day 9) China Glaze Nail Polish in shade Snow Globe: This one of my favourite holiday/Winter nail polishes to use. I love the iridescent flakes of glitter and it looks amazing over all kinds of colours. It lasts for such a long time without chips and is an easy way to amp up a holiday manicure for a more festive look.

China Glaze shade Snow Globe

The Body Shop Shade Adjusting Drops

Day 10) The Body Shop Shade Adjusting Drops (Darkening): These darkening drops have been so helpful to me when a foundation is slightly off. I use this with a few different formulas and it never seems to alter the foundation, and it really works to help adjust a shade to suit my skin depending on the season.

These five products have been stand-out items in my collections and I wanted to include them in my own beauty advent calendar for my 25 Days of Beauty. There seemed to be quite a few face products in this batch. Have you tried any of these items? Leave a comment and let me know!

25 Days of Beauty: The First Five

For the month of December I decided to do a 25 Days of Beauty challenge on my Instagram, kind of like my own made-up advent calendar. I would pick one item from my makeup collection to talk about per day, just to share a quick photo and sentence or two about it. After the first few days I realized I had more to say about some of the products, so I decided to compile a blog post per week, to go over the products in a more detailed way.

For this 25 Days of Beauty I had no particular order in mind. I chose items I either just purchased and was excited about, or things I have has for a while and been really loving. It’s a mix of eyes, lips, nails, and anything in between!

Let’s get started with the first 7 products from my 25 Days of Beauty challenge!

Day 1) Essence Cosmetics Matt Matt Matt Lipstick in shade 03: This lipstick is a gorgeous rosy hue and it has such a creamy formula. It applied in one swipe and had great pigmentation, and was a comfortable matte feeling. It lasted for a long time and I love the colour as an everyday shade that isn’t too light.

Day 2) Catrice Cosmetics Highlighting Powder in shade Champagne Campaign: This was from my August Ipsy Glam Bag and I have been really enjoying it since then. I love the light golden tone, and it isn’t too deep, dark, or intense.

Day 3) Josie Maran Argan Liquid Gold Self-Tanning Face Oil: This one is actually empty now, but it was my go-to facial oil for a lovely summer glow. I used it often throughout the summer and also in Fall when I wanted a little bit of a glowy boost on no-makeup days. I did see a difference with it and felt that it gave my face a sun-kissed look, and I am planning to repurchase it for next summer.

Day 4) Lush Cosmetics Sleepy Hand and Body Lotion: I love the scent of this and find it so nice and relaxing to put on my hands before bed, however I don’t find any difference in how I sleep or how quickly I fall asleep. I didn’t expect it to just magically knock my out cold so I am not really disappointed, and I do enjoy the soothing lavender smell to end my evenings.

LUSH Sleepy Lotion

Day 5) Tarte Cosmetics Lifted Sweatproof Mascara: I actually really love this mascara for a daily look. I don’t wear it for working out so I can’t comment on the sweatproof factor, but it does give my lashes such a lovely fluffy, light, wispy style. I use this so often and am almost done the mini size, so I am planning to get a full size in the future.

That’s it for my first five days of the 25 Days of Beauty I started on Instagram. I will be back soon with the next batch, and continuing throughout the month until we cover all 25 products.

November 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag: Better Late Than Never!

Did everyone else get their November 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag super late? Mine just arrived a few days ago, which is really late in the month, even with me being in Canada. Aside from the long wait, this bag is actually really great. I checked my item spoilers so I knew what was coming, and I was very excited.

The actual bag itself came in one of two colours. There was a mustard yellow or this teal hue, and they had the plain colour bottom and the shiny, darker top half. The yellow bag has a gold top half and this teal one is more of an inky blue with some sort of metallic-like style. I like the look of the November 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag and I actually was hoping for the teal so that was a fun surprise.

My November 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag

My November 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag

Let’s see what was in my November 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag!

The five items I got this month looked really exciting in my preview. I got one full size item and four deluxe minis, and two things were from brands I already love and use often.

Items in my November 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag

Items in my November 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag

The item I was most excited for was the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush, which came in one of three shades. I got the shade Feisty, which is a dusty rose hue. I got one of these blushes in the Sephora Birthday Gift and I have worn it almost every single day since my birthday in July. I absolutely love it, I love the formula, the long-wear time, the colour, and everything else about it. Even for a mini product it has a lot in it and I have not even hit pan after almost 6 months. The birthday blush has been my go-to blush and I am so excited to have another shade now.

The other item I was really looking forward to was the ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip, which I already know and love, and have a ton of (as you can see here). This product is full size and could have been one of two shades. I got the shade Baracuda, which was amazing because I already had the other colour Ipsy was sending.

The next three items in my November 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag were things I have never tried (or even seen) before.

I received a Manna Kadar Cosmetics HD Perfecting Powder which is neat to try out but definitely a small pan for an all-over face product. I will be giving this a shot for sure, since I have oily skin and am always looking for ways to take my shine away. This is meant to be mattifying and help with flashback in photos, so this will be great for upcoming holiday events.

I also got a ‘Tini Beauty Barfly Highlighter in the shade Candlelit, which is a stick highlighter with a light pink shimmery hue. I’m extra into a good glow lately so this will be fun to wear.

My last item was a Kensie Deluxe Mini Purse Sprayer, which is handy for on-the-go. It was bigger than I pictured it to be, and the scent is a nice fresh and sweet smell that isn’t too sickly sweet or overpowering.

Swatches of the 'Tini Beauty Highlighter, Tarte Blush, and ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip

Swatches of the ‘Tini Beauty Highlighter, Tarte Blush, and ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip

I really think my November 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag was a great one. I loved the full size ColourPop product, and loved that I got the shade I was hoping for. I am over the moon about the Tarte blush and am really pleased with the Kensie fragrance and ‘Tini Beauty Highlighter. The Manna Kadar powder will be nice to try but wasn’t overwhelmingly exciting, but still good to get.

Even though it took forever to arrive this month I really do love my Ipsy products for November. Did you get a Glam Bag this month? Leave me a comment and let me know what you got!

RachhLoves Topbox Fall 2017: What’s Inside?!

Today I have a fun beauty box to show you! This is the RachhLoves Topbox Fall 2017 Box and it is curated by Youtuber RachhLoves, who I have been watching a lot over the past few months. She’s Canadian so I like seeing the drugstore hauls and items that really apply to me, plus she’s friendly and fun to watch.

Every season she does a collaboration with TopBox for a beauty box, which you can order as single item as opposed to the typical Topbox monthly subscription. I have never gotten one of her boxes before but after seeing her video on this box I had to get it.

It was $22 Canadian with free shipping and came with a mix of full size and deluxe sample size products. I specifically wanted this box for three of the full size items that RachhLoves mentioned in her video. See the items below to find out what was in the RachhLoves Topbox Fall 2017 box!

NYX Sweet Cheeks Blush Palette (full size): This blush palette has 8 different shades, ranging from light pink, coral, deep pink, and everything else. I have never tried NYX blushes but always eyed this palette at the drugstore. It retails for $27 Canadian on the NYX website so getting this in the box was already a great deal for me!

Stila Huge Extreme Lash Mascara (full size): This mascara is one of RachhLoves’ favourites and I have always liked things I try from Stila. This mascara retails for $30 Canadian on the Sephora website so this was crazy to get a full size in the box.

All of the products in the RachhLoves Topbox Fall 2017 Box

All of the products in the RachhLoves Topbox Fall 2017 Box

Wet N’ Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in shade Precious Petals (full size): I have heard so many amazing reviews about these MegaGlo Highlighting Powders but never picked one up to try. This full size item retails for $5 Canadian so even though I could pick one up myself, it was great to have it included in the box and I was very excited to get my glow on.

GlamGlow Supermud Mask (deluxe mini): This deluxe mini mask came in one of two types (you could choose when you ordered the box) so it was a nice item to try out and see what it does for my skin. I don’t usually spend a lot on fancy masks of skincare so getting to try this out was really fun.

Tarte Creamy Matte Lip Paint in shade Fomo (deluxe mini): I already have quite a few of these Tarte mini Lip Paints from various Ipsy bags, Tarte gift sets, etc. and I love them. I love the formula and wear them all so frequently so getting another one was totally fine for me. I already had the Fomo shade so I will pass this along to a friend.

The NYX Sweet Cheeks Blush Palette and the Wet N' Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder

The NYX Sweet Cheeks Blush Palette and the Wet N’ Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder

Overall the RachhLoves Topbox Fall 2017 box had three full size items, which included a full blush palette and full size highlighter that I have had my eye on for months already. The Stila mascara was amazing to include and a great deal compared to it’s normal retail price. I haven’t tried it out yet but I am really looking forward to seeing if my lashes are going to be huge! I will definitely be posting a review on that soon.

I personally love when a beauty box comes with items you already were hoping to try or had on your wishlist, so this box was a complete hit for me! I will be keeping my eye out to see what RachhLoves includes in her next Topbox collaboration.

Kiss ImPress Press-On Manicure

Today I have some really cool nails to show you. These are the Kiss ImPress Press-On Manicure and they are something I have talked about previously on the blog. I love these nails as an easy way to get great looking nails (and nail art) in a pinch. I always have one or two packs in my cupboard just in case.

I threw out the box before checking the style name or number so unfortunately I don’t have that to share, but I can tell you they were probably about 2 years old so I don’t think these ones are in stores any longer. They do have a ton of new styles out now, so check those out on the Kiss ImPress website.

Kiss ImPress Press-On Manicure

Kiss ImPress Press-On Manicure

I tend to use these when I break a nail or two and want to cover them up, or if I have an event to attend and don’t have time to do my own nail art or polish. Applying the Kiss ImPress Press-On Manicure takes me about 10 minutes to do on myself and they look amazing. They also last for a full two weeks with almost no wear and tear. I usually paint over them by day 7 or so, which allows me to keep a great looking nail shape and switch up the colour.

Wearing the Kiss ImPress Press-On Manicure

Wearing the Kiss ImPress Press-On Manicure

They look so good and only took a few minutes to apply!

I love how simple these are to apply. All you have to do is find the right size for each nail (which can take up some time the first time you use them) and then peel off the tab and stick them on. They don’t need harsh glue or any special supplies, and they don’t do any damage to your nails.

Sizes of the Kiss ImPress Press-On Manicure

Sorting my sizes!

Usually these kits come with 11 sizes for each hand, so you get 22 nails and only really need 10. Some kits with accent nails or special designs can come with 30 nails, so you have even more variety. There are tiny numbers printed under each nail to tell you the size. I keep a little note in my phone with my nail sizes so it makes the process even quicker for me.

The photo below is on Day 9 of wearing the Kiss ImPress Press-On Manicure. After over a week of wearing, including typing, dish-washing, showers, and other daily things that can chip nail polish, these still look pretty amazing. You can see some slight wear and tear at the tips, especially on my pointer finger, and a little bit of growth on my ring finger. Overall though they look way better than a coat of nail polish would have looked after 9 days.

Day 9 of wearing Kiss ImPress Press-On Manicure

Day 9 of wearing Kiss ImPress Press-On Manicure

These fake nails are nothing like the old-fashioned ones that ruin your nails, and they are nowhere near as pricey as salon nails. I never have gotten Shellac or Gel nails or any other false nails at a salon, and with these nails at the drugstore I never will. The Kiss ImPress Press-On Nails retail for $9.99 CAD and can be found in Wal-Mart, London Drugs, and Jean Coutu stores.

When you’re in the mood for quick nail art, need to cover up a few broken nails for a special event, or just want to spice up your look, the Kiss ImPress Press-On Manicure is an affordable and stylish option.

Swatches of the Urban Decay Heavy Metals Metallic Eyeshadow Palette

Yesterday I shared a quick look at the Urban Decay Heavy Metals Metallic Eyeshadow Palette and as promised today I have the swatch photos. This palette is full of shimmery, creamy, metallic shades that are just screaming ‘holiday party’ to me. All 20 shades are new and exclusive to this palette, and I love the mix of bold colours and neutrals.

The Urban Decay Heavy Metals Metallic Eyeshadow Palette

The Urban Decay Heavy Metals Metallic Eyeshadow Palette

The palette is split into two halves divided by the mirror so that is how I swatched the shadows. There are 10 on each side so I went in two columns per side to show you the colours. The pigment and formula was amazing on almost every single one, and they went on so smoothly with barely any touch. A few of the light neutrals were a little trickier to apply but I will note that when I get to them.

Starting with the bright side of the Urban Decay Heavy Metals Metallic Eyeshadow Palette we have 10 bold colours. I started with the column on the left and then moved to right, and it should be pretty easy to follow along.

The bright and bold side of the Urban Decay Heavy Metals Metallic Eyeshadow Palette

The bright and bold side of the Urban Decay Heavy Metals Metallic Eyeshadow Palette

Ground, Spandex, Metalhead, Mullet, and Twisted

In the photo above, from left to right, are Ground, Spandex, Metalhead, Mullet and Twisted. All of these are amazing and I love the jewel tones.  Mullet was a little more sheer than the rest and may need to be built up slightly, but it wasn’t chalky, dry, or patchy.

In the swatch photo below, from left to right, we have Aluminum, Dive, Punk Rock, Amp, and Glamrock. Dive was slightly crumbly but both Punk Rock and Glamrock were extremely impressive and smooth.

The other side of the Urban Decay Heavy Metals Metallic Eyeshadow Palette has more neutral shades, although still very shimmery and gorgeous. Some of these were slightly patchy but I think patting them on rather than swiping may help.

In the photo below, from left to right, we have Bass, Demo, Afterparty, Roadie and Scream. Demo was a little bit crumbly but the others in this column were incredibly smooth to work with.

In the photo below, from left to right, the shades are Glory, Starfire, Angelfire, Maiden, and Acoustic. This column was the one with the most issues since Angelfire and Maiden were crumbly and Acoustic was a little bit sheer.

Final Thoughts on the Palette?

Overall out of all 20 shadows in the Urban Decay Heavy Metals palette I found that four shadows were crumbly, but still very pigmented, and two were a little sheer and needed building. All in all that isn’t too bad for an all metallic palette, and the formula overall makes it worth it to me. The majority of these eyeshadows are ridiculously creamy, smooth, and ultra-pigmented, and not to mention they are stunning hues. I love this for a fun palette and am really pleased with it, especially since I redeemed points to get it!
