LUSH Herbalism

Skincare has always been the one aspect of my beauty routine that I am most hesitant to change. I will try any colour lipstick and wear bright blue mascara on a Tuesday, but it takes a lot of research and concern for me to change my skincare routine. I recently purchased LUSH Herbalism to finally make some changes to my skin, and I am really hoping for good results.

I have used LUSH skincare in the past but it was many years ago and I don’t think I gave it a proper chance. I originally ignored LUSH Herbalism due to the strong vinegar scent, but after a few weeks of researching it I decided I would suck it up and ignore the scent in order to give it a shot. In the past two weeks I have gotten used the smell and don’t hate it anymore. I don’t like it particularly but it doesn’t bother me any longer.

About LUSH Herbalism

LUSH Herbalism is a vegan cleanser made up of ingredients such as ground almond, rice vinegar, and rosemary. It comes in a LUSH black pot and is a crumbly texture. You can check it out on their website here.  The method to use this is to pinch off a bit and mush it up in your hand with warm water to create a grainy paste consistency. It can be a bit messy but I will deal with the mess if it delivers results.

Right now I am just over two weeks into using this, and have noticed a few things in regards to my skin. I use this at least once a day to wash my face, and sometimes twice depending on if I wore makeup. This does not remove makeup which was a big issue for me at first. I like having one products to wash and cleanse and get everything off my face, so it was hard to get used to LUSH Herbalism. I now use this after I remove my makeup at night, and/or in the morning when I wake up (and therefore have no makeup on).

I like the feeling of this cleanser and enjoy the slightly exfoliating feeling of the ground almonds. It leaves my skin soft, smooth, and almost buttery feeling after – but not in a greasy or oily way. I am used to my face feeling super tight after I wash it (with my previous skincare routine) so having this soft feeling after LUSH Herbalism is a pleasant change.

Does it deliver results?

As I mentioned, I am only about two weeks into using this and I have decided to give it a full four week trial. My face feels soft and smooth, however any blemishes or acne I had have not drastically changed. I think I may have slightly better skin and fewer blemishes, and possibly less oily skin, but nothing super noticeable. After a full four weeks I feel like I will have a better time frame to base my review on, so I will keep using LUSH Herbalism and hope I see some great improvements.

For reference I do have a fairly oily t-zone and get minor blemishes and relatively minor acne on a consistent basis. My goal with a new cleanser was to clear up my skin and reduce the oiliness.

Once I finish my full test time of LUSH Herbalism I will be posting my full thoughts, so keep an eye out for that.

Review: Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner by LUSH

I used to use a lot of LUSH products and kind of took a break for the past few months, but recently I got back into them. One of the items I picked up was Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner and I am quickly falling in love with it. The rose scent is so good and it makes my showers feel a little more luxurious when I use a product like this.

This product has a 4.7 out of 5 star review on the LUSH website and it gets a ton of great comments. I just liked the scent of it, and had previously enjoyed using a Nivea in-shower body lotion so this sounded similar. It comes in a typical LUSH pot and I actually preferred that because I was able to scoop out the amount I wanted, whereas the bottled one like the Nivea one made it harder to guess how much I was squeezing out.
