The Smashbox Lipstick Survival Kit

Good morning! Today I have a really fun full-size lip kit to talk about, and it’s from a brand that I don’t normally have a lot of. This is the Smashbox Lipstick Survival Kit, which retails for $59 CAD and has a value of $179. This kit has 7 full-size lip products including lipsticks, lip liners, and a lipstick transformer.

The Smashbox Lipstick Survival Kit

What products are in the Smashbox Lipstick Survival Kit?

A peek inside the Smashbox Lipstick Survival Kit

A peek inside the Smashbox Lipstick Survival Kit

This kit comes with three of the Smashbox Be Legendary lipsticks. The three shades are Witchy Cream, Cognac Cream, and Stylist Matte.

There are also three of the Smashbox Always Sharp Lip Liners included. These shades are Figgy, Nude Medium, and Clear.

The last product in the Smashbox Lipstick Survival Kit is a really cool one. It is the Smashbox Insta-Matte Lipstick Transformer. This transformer is a clear formula that you can apply over any creamy lipstick and turn it into a matte finish. I love matte formulas so this was one of the most exciting pieces of this lip kit.

Let’s see the swatches!

Swatches of Smashbox Be Legendary Lipsticks in shades Stylist, Cognac, and Witchy

The three Be Legendary Lipsticks all had great formulas. They were smooth and easy to apply, and they all had good coverage and colour. I went over Witchy twice to get more intense payoff, but the other two were one swipe and I was good to go.

From L-R: Smashbox Always On Lip Liners in Medium Nude (top), Figgy (bottom), and lipsticks in Stylist, Cognac, and Witchy

I didn’t swatch the clear one but the other two liners in the Smashbox Lipstick Survival Kit were incredible. The have a great sharp tip, had very smooth and opaque formulas, and glided on so easily. I really like both colours.

The last item was the one I was most excited about but after trying it I am not as thrilled. It is a neat concept and the product was pretty good, but I didn’t see a huge difference. The Smashbox Insta-Matte Lipstick Transformer was a slightly thicker consistency and glided over the two creamy shades. The tube tells you to blend with your finger until you get a matte finish, but I felt like I was mushing around the colour and almost wiping it off in some cases. It did make a difference to the shine of the two lipsticks, but not so significant that I would now call them matte. Hopefully that makes sense!

The Smashbox Insta-Matte Lipstick Transformer seemed to just smudge the two cream shades

Overall I do think the Smashbox Lipstick Survival Kit has some great quality lip products and some very nice shades, which I can see working on a lot of skin tones. The only item I wasn’t impressed with was the Transformer, but the three lipsticks and three lip liners do seem to make this kit worth it if you are looking for a few lip basics that have good formulas and opacity.

January 2018 Ipsy Glam Bag Review

It’s still technically January so I can still post this! Today I have my very late January 2018 Ipsy Glam Bag with five items that I have been using over the past little while.

Before we get to the items, let’s take a look at the actual bag. The January 2018 Ipsy Glam Bag is a blue mesh bag with lime green and pink accents. It has a sporty-chic 80’s aerobic vibe which I have to admit I am into.

The January 2018 Ipsy Glam Bag has an 80's neon aerobic vibe!

The January 2018 Ipsy Glam Bag has an 80’s neon aerobic vibe!

What was in the January 2018 Ipsy Glam Bag?

The Coffee Scrub in Coconut: This exfoliating body scrub is right up my alley. I love coffee, I love coconut, and I love body scrubs. I have never tried this brand but I really like it a lot. I find scrubs like this one (similar to Frank Body scrubs) are a bit messy but I enjoy using them so I don’t mind

Vasanti Cosmetics Kajal Waterline Eyeliner in Intense Black: I can’t recall how many black liners I have gotten in an Ipsy bag, but here is another one. Although I haven’t tried the brand I will probably just pass this along to a friend because I don’t need another one.

Preventive Measures 101 After Hours Lip Balm: This is a passion-fruit scented lip balm and in this Canadian Winter weather I can always use another balm. I like the scent and it doesn’t feel greasy, slimy, or too thick to wear.

Swatches of the Hola Neon Liquid Lipstick (top) and The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer (bottom)

Swatches of the Hola Neon Liquid Lipstick (top) and The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer (bottom)

Hola Neon Velvet Liquid Lipstick in shade DF: This matte liquid lipstick is a really nice shade. It claims to be mauve but I find it quite deeper in colour. I think it would be a great Fall colour and I do like the light smooth formula.

The Balm Cosmetics Mary-Lou Manizer: This highlight has had rave reviews all over the beauty blogging world and I have never tried it until now. I love The Balm and even though they have quite tiny sample pans, I am thrilled to finally have this famous highlighter.

Final Thoughts

Overall I love The Coffee Scrub and Mary-Lou Manizer, and am pretty pleased with the lip balm and liquid lipstick as some nice basics. I could pass on the repetitive black eyeliner but in general this bag was decent. Two loves, two likes, and one pass. Not bad for the January 2018 Ipsy Glam Bag but I do look forward to seeing what February can bring.

Fenty Beauty Bomb Baby Set

Today I have a mini set of Fenty Beauty products to show you. This is the Fenty Beauty Bomb Baby Set, which includes a mini size of the Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in the shade Hu$tla Baby and the Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer in the shade Fenty Glow. I was very curious about both of these items so this mini duo was a great way to try them out without breaking the bank.

The Fenty Beauty Bomb Baby Set

The Fenty Beauty Bomb Baby Set

Fenty Beauty has been getting a lot of notice since it launched, and many people seem to love both of these products. I had heard the highlight was great and that the lip gloss was super flattering, so I was very excited to check this out.

I have to say I do love the packaging of both items in the Fenty Beauty Bomb Baby Set. I love the angular shape and the simple chic look. The Gloss Bomb is in a really neat tube and I like that I can see so much of the product. It has a very large wand as well which is nice, and the packaging looks luxurious. The hexagon highlighter packaging is really neat too and I like the simple white, cool shape, and edgy lettering.

In the pan the Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter has a peachy hue to it, but in my swatch it comes out more champagne. I like it a lot and think it is a pretty shade, but for all the hype I had been hearing I was expecting something to blow me away. It’s a nice highlighter and I will definitely use it, but it is much more wearable and everyday than I thought it might be. That isn’t a bad thing so I am still glad I got it in the Fenty Beauty Bomb Baby Set.

The Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer was really lovely. It smells like the Too Faced Lip Injection gloss – a fruity strawberry scent. It has some shimmer and a really pretty neutral colour, which is meant to look good on everyone. I do think it looked good on me (I have worn it a few days now) but even in photos on Sephora’s site it looks practically clear on the models. It has some shimmery flecks which I loved, and gave my lips a really beautiful full look, but it has very little actual colour to it. It’s a gorgeous gloss or topper for sure, and I love the smooth and light formula, but again it didn’t wow me like I had hoped.

Overall the Fenty Beauty Bomb Baby Set was a nice way to try out two popular products, and I am glad that I purchased it. Both items were much more toned down than I had expected, but they are good quality items and products I did like, so I will continue wearing both. I think I was expecting Rihanna level glam when in reality these are more like go-to everyday basics.

Sephora Favorites Give Me Some New Lip Kit

OMG look what I have! It’s the brand new Sephora Favorites Give Me Some New Lip Kit! If you read my blog you know how much I love the lip kits, and I think I have almost every single one from the past few years. I love the opportunity to get mini sizes and try different brands for one reasonable price. These kits has some great variety and I have loved a lot of the past ones, so of course I has to pick up this new one.

The new Sephora Favorites Give Me Some New Lip Kit

The new Sephora Favorites Give Me Some New Lip Kit

This kit has 3 deluxe mini size lip products and 2 full-size ones. Many of the past kits in the lip shaped box have had 6 items total but this one only has 5. They are different brands and some more unique items, so maybe that was a reason for the change. This kit also comes in a different box, which is kind of cute. I do love the lip shaped ones I have but this little box is a nice way to switch it up. Either way I am very excited about the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some New Lip Kit!

Let’s see what’s inside!

All 5 items in the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some New Lip Kit

All 5 items in the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some New Lip Kit

The Sephora Favorites Give Me Some New Lip Kit has the following 5 products included:

  • 0.07 oz/ 2 mL Huda Beauty Lip Strobe in Snobby
  • 0.07 oz/ 2 g Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Liquid Lip Crayon in Night Mauves
  • 0.13 oz/ 4 mL Smashbox Always On Metallic Matte in XO, Vlada
  • 0.21 oz/ 6 g treStiQue Mini Plumping Lip Balm in Barbados Berry
  • 0.035 oz/ 1 g Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick in Candy Venom

The full size products are the Marc Jacobs Le Marc Liquid Lip Crayon and the Smashbox Always On Metallic Matte. I was super curious about the Marc Jacobs one since a crayon format liquid lipstick just seems so contradictory I had to fond out what it was all about.

I was thrilled to see a Huda Beauty Lip Strobe in this kit, since that is one product I have had my eye on for a while. I wasn’t ready to shell out $23 for a full size one but to have a mini in this kit was perfect. I have also never tried anything by Fenty Beauty yet, so this will be neat to check out a mini Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick.

Take a look at the swatches of the 5 lip products included in the kit!

Swatches from bottom to top: Trestique, Marc Jacobs, Fenty, Smashbox, Huda Beauty

Swatches from bottom to top: Trestique, Marc Jacobs, Fenty, Smashbox, Huda Beauty

I felt a little minty tingle with the Trestique balm, and it has a nice soft light shade. The Marc Jacobs Liquid Lip Crayon is insanely smooth and creamy. It just glides on and felt so good, and it was very opaque. The Fenty matte lipstick was also very opaque and had such a nice bold colour with a one-swipe formula. The Smashbox lipstick is very metallic but the matte finish makes it more wearable, and the Huda Beauty strobe is just stunning. The flecks of pink and gold in it are amazing and it truly is a unique and gorgeous lip topper.

Another shot of swatches from bottom to top: Trestique, Marc Jacobs, Fenty, Smashbox, Huda Beauty

Another shot of swatches from bottom to top: Trestique, Marc Jacobs, Fenty, Smashbox, Huda Beauty

I have to say this kit seems to be full of variety. There are brands that are not usually included in these Favorites sets, and interesting formulas as well. Usually these kits have a theme, like nude lips of bold lips, but this one mixes it up. A metallic matte, a sparkly lip topper, a plumping balm, and more. I love how different each item is and I actually like that there seems to be no official theme. Unless perhaps the theme is “New”, since it is Give Me Some New Lip and all of these products are pretty recent launches.

Overall the value of the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some New Lip Kit seems to be pretty good, since the two full-size items alone would be $34 (Marc Jacobs) and $28 (Smashbox). The kit is only $33 so I think it’s a good way to try a couple trendy items and brands without breaking the bank on a bunch of full-size items.

I am really happy with the lip kit and am excited to use every single product in the set!

The last batch of my 25 Days of Beauty

Good morning and hello 2018! I cannot believe how fast time has flown by! I meant to finish up my 25 Days of Beauty fake advent calendar, but I have been so busy over the holidays. I actually ended up only getting to share 23 products, but I wanted to finish this out. Today I have products 16-23 to share and discuss, but I won’t be using the photos for all of them. If you are interested they are on my Instagram so you can see more over there!

These last products are the same as before – items I really really love or something exciting that I just had to show you. Most of them are quite old, but some are newer favourites or things that really surprised and impressed me. Let’s get right into my last group of the 25 Days of Beauty products!

Day 16) Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture Perfume: This one was one that really surprised me. I have always seen how popular Juicy Couture scents are but have never once smelled or tried one myself. I got this as a sample through Influenster and was so impressed by the yummy, sweet, vanilla candy smell. I don’t know what I was expecting but I really really liked this one and over the past 2 months I have been wearing it a lot.

Viva La Juicy Perfume

Day 17) Dr. Paw Paw Original Balm: I got this a long time ago in a subscription box and have been using it every night. It has a very unique feeling, and it is a creamy balm so it may take time to get used to, but it is not greasy or oily at all. It sinks right into my hands and I use it so often.

Day 18) Ciate London Liquid Velvet Lipstick in shade Pin Up: I got this from an Ipsy bag and have been absolutely obsessed with it ever since. I love the colour of it but more importantly the formula is incredible. It lasts all day long, through coffee, pizza, snacks, drinks, and more. It applies easily and smoothly, doesn’t dry out my lips, and is one of my all-time favourite lip products.

Day 19) Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly Palette: I got this as a gift last Christmas and I still use it a lot. I have brown eyes so I have always liked gold tones and purples to accent them, so this palette seems like it was made for me. You can see my full review on the palette here.

Day 20) Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer: I had heard so many great things about this bronzer for months and months before actually purchasing one myself. Once I did though I saw exactly what all the fuss was about – it is amazing! Super soft and easy to work with, and it gives a nice glow to the skin without any shimmer or glitter. I use this almost every day and love how it looks, and the yummy tropical scent is a total bonus!

Day 21) ColourPop SuperShock Shadow in shade Un: This is by far my favourite ColourPop product I own. This is such a lovely light golden shimmer and I use it so often. I swipe it all over my lid as a quick look, or use it as an inner corner or brow bone highlight with other looks. The formula is amazing, the colour is awesome, and the price was great. The only problem is that I think it was from a limited edition collection and now I can’t find it on the site to repurchase.

Day 22) Tarte Tarteist Quick Dry Lip Paint in shade Fomo: I love these Tarte lip paints and have a bunch of minis in different colours. I have been using this pretty shade a lot lately and I love the colour, long-wearing formula, and light application. It has a whipped texture so it feels very light to apply and wear, but it lasts for hours and is very pigmented.

Day 23) CoverGirl Oh Sugar! Lipstick in shade Gumdrop: This is a lighter semi-sheer lipstick that I use more as a balm. It really make my lips feel moisturized and soft, which is great in the cold weather. I like the purple hue because it leaves my lips with a nice berry tone flush of colour, without anything heavy or too thick.

There we have it, the remaining items in my 25 Days of Beauty products. I did not make it to Day 24 and 25 since it was all over the place at about 5 different family events for Christmas, but I hope you enjoyed the 23 items I did share this month.

After these 25 Days of Beauty I am now ready to jump into 2018 and discover all new favourites for the upcoming year. Leave me a comment and let me know some of your favourite beauty products from the past year!

25 Days of Beauty: 11 to 15

Today we have the third set of products from my 25 Days of Beauty Made-Up Advent Calendar! I have been posting a product everyday on Instagram that I really love, use often, or otherwise want to feature this month. I post them in groups of 5 over here so that I can go into more detail and give mini reviews of each item.

Quo Cosmetics Makeup Setting Spray

Today we have items 11 to 15 from my 25 Days of Beauty, which means we have passed the halfway point! Let’s take a look at this group of products!

Day 11) Quo Cosmetics Make-Up Setting Spray: This setting spray is my go-to pick for making my makeup look more like skin. I think it gives a great natural finish and it helps lock my look in place all night.

Day 12) Bite Beauty Multistick in shade Mochi: I love this little multistick even though I tend to use it mainly on my lips. It does work as a nice cream blush if you blend it out, but my favourite way to wear it is to dab it onto my lips using my finger, and blend it out for a softer look. This method helps it stay on like a stain and I get so many hours of wear with this soft matte lip colour.

Bite Beauty Multistick in shade Mochi

Day 13) Charmed Aroma Mango Coconut Body Butter: I love the scent of this and I love the formula too! It’s so creamy and softening, and leaves my skin feeling extremely supple. I use this all over and love the tropical smell it leaves. It also came with a ring which was super fun!

Day 14) Tarte Cosmetics Make Believe In Yourself Eyeshadow Palette: This palette is so shimmery and beautiful for the holidays. I love using these shadows for a night out, and I find them very creamy to work with. This may be more of a special occasion palette as opposed to everyday, but I do use it quite often for evening looks.

Tarte Make Believe in Yourself Palette

Day 15) L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche La Lacque and Le Matte Lipsticks in shades 201 Lacque-y Charm and 106 Mad For Matte: I use both of these lipsticks so frequently that I am surprised there is anything left in them. I absolutely love the shade Lacque-y Charm and it is a gorgeous everyday rosy hue. It glides on super smoothly and has a glossy, creamy formula that isn’t tacky or sticky at all. Mad For Matte is also very smooth and not drying at all. It’s a great matte red that isn’t too thick, isn’t crumbly, and is super opaque.

25 Days of Beauty: The First Five

For the month of December I decided to do a 25 Days of Beauty challenge on my Instagram, kind of like my own made-up advent calendar. I would pick one item from my makeup collection to talk about per day, just to share a quick photo and sentence or two about it. After the first few days I realized I had more to say about some of the products, so I decided to compile a blog post per week, to go over the products in a more detailed way.

For this 25 Days of Beauty I had no particular order in mind. I chose items I either just purchased and was excited about, or things I have has for a while and been really loving. It’s a mix of eyes, lips, nails, and anything in between!

Let’s get started with the first 7 products from my 25 Days of Beauty challenge!

Day 1) Essence Cosmetics Matt Matt Matt Lipstick in shade 03: This lipstick is a gorgeous rosy hue and it has such a creamy formula. It applied in one swipe and had great pigmentation, and was a comfortable matte feeling. It lasted for a long time and I love the colour as an everyday shade that isn’t too light.

Day 2) Catrice Cosmetics Highlighting Powder in shade Champagne Campaign: This was from my August Ipsy Glam Bag and I have been really enjoying it since then. I love the light golden tone, and it isn’t too deep, dark, or intense.

Day 3) Josie Maran Argan Liquid Gold Self-Tanning Face Oil: This one is actually empty now, but it was my go-to facial oil for a lovely summer glow. I used it often throughout the summer and also in Fall when I wanted a little bit of a glowy boost on no-makeup days. I did see a difference with it and felt that it gave my face a sun-kissed look, and I am planning to repurchase it for next summer.

Day 4) Lush Cosmetics Sleepy Hand and Body Lotion: I love the scent of this and find it so nice and relaxing to put on my hands before bed, however I don’t find any difference in how I sleep or how quickly I fall asleep. I didn’t expect it to just magically knock my out cold so I am not really disappointed, and I do enjoy the soothing lavender smell to end my evenings.

LUSH Sleepy Lotion

Day 5) Tarte Cosmetics Lifted Sweatproof Mascara: I actually really love this mascara for a daily look. I don’t wear it for working out so I can’t comment on the sweatproof factor, but it does give my lashes such a lovely fluffy, light, wispy style. I use this so often and am almost done the mini size, so I am planning to get a full size in the future.

That’s it for my first five days of the 25 Days of Beauty I started on Instagram. I will be back soon with the next batch, and continuing throughout the month until we cover all 25 products.

November 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag: Better Late Than Never!

Did everyone else get their November 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag super late? Mine just arrived a few days ago, which is really late in the month, even with me being in Canada. Aside from the long wait, this bag is actually really great. I checked my item spoilers so I knew what was coming, and I was very excited.

The actual bag itself came in one of two colours. There was a mustard yellow or this teal hue, and they had the plain colour bottom and the shiny, darker top half. The yellow bag has a gold top half and this teal one is more of an inky blue with some sort of metallic-like style. I like the look of the November 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag and I actually was hoping for the teal so that was a fun surprise.

My November 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag

My November 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag

Let’s see what was in my November 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag!

The five items I got this month looked really exciting in my preview. I got one full size item and four deluxe minis, and two things were from brands I already love and use often.

Items in my November 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag

Items in my November 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag

The item I was most excited for was the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush, which came in one of three shades. I got the shade Feisty, which is a dusty rose hue. I got one of these blushes in the Sephora Birthday Gift and I have worn it almost every single day since my birthday in July. I absolutely love it, I love the formula, the long-wear time, the colour, and everything else about it. Even for a mini product it has a lot in it and I have not even hit pan after almost 6 months. The birthday blush has been my go-to blush and I am so excited to have another shade now.

The other item I was really looking forward to was the ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip, which I already know and love, and have a ton of (as you can see here). This product is full size and could have been one of two shades. I got the shade Baracuda, which was amazing because I already had the other colour Ipsy was sending.

The next three items in my November 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag were things I have never tried (or even seen) before.

I received a Manna Kadar Cosmetics HD Perfecting Powder which is neat to try out but definitely a small pan for an all-over face product. I will be giving this a shot for sure, since I have oily skin and am always looking for ways to take my shine away. This is meant to be mattifying and help with flashback in photos, so this will be great for upcoming holiday events.

I also got a ‘Tini Beauty Barfly Highlighter in the shade Candlelit, which is a stick highlighter with a light pink shimmery hue. I’m extra into a good glow lately so this will be fun to wear.

My last item was a Kensie Deluxe Mini Purse Sprayer, which is handy for on-the-go. It was bigger than I pictured it to be, and the scent is a nice fresh and sweet smell that isn’t too sickly sweet or overpowering.

Swatches of the 'Tini Beauty Highlighter, Tarte Blush, and ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip

Swatches of the ‘Tini Beauty Highlighter, Tarte Blush, and ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip

I really think my November 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag was a great one. I loved the full size ColourPop product, and loved that I got the shade I was hoping for. I am over the moon about the Tarte blush and am really pleased with the Kensie fragrance and ‘Tini Beauty Highlighter. The Manna Kadar powder will be nice to try but wasn’t overwhelmingly exciting, but still good to get.

Even though it took forever to arrive this month I really do love my Ipsy products for November. Did you get a Glam Bag this month? Leave me a comment and let me know what you got!

September 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag

Does anyone else feel like you just woke up and suddenly it was almost through September? It came so quickly and I feel like summer passed by in a matter of minutes. September means the start of Fall, lots of people going back to school, Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and of course my September 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag!

I want to start off by saying that I totally love the bag this month! I love the chic black faux leather studded style. It’s cool but still simple and I can see myself using this for more than just miscellaneous storage.

Check out the September 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag design

Check out the September 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag design

Aside from the cool bag design, I think I got a pretty good bag this month. My September 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag has three full size items which is awesome.

All of the items in my September 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag

All of the items in my September 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag

The items in my September 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag are the following:

  • ColourPop Comsetics Lippie Stix in shade Glam Bag: This is an exclusive colour created in collaboration with Ipsy. It is a beautiful bold magenta hue and has a matte formula. I love ColourPop Lippie Stix (and liquid lipsticks) and have a bunch already so this was something I knew I would enjoy.
  • Hanalei Papaya Enzyme Powder Cleanser: I have never heard of a powder cleanser but this sounded neat. It’s meant to be a super gentle scrub that is safe for sensitive skin so I will be giving this a try.
  • Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Radiance Primer: This is pretty much a primer mixed with a glowing highlighter so it could be pretty cool. I don’t tend to go for radiant finishes since I already have pretty oily skin but I do like other Smashbox primers so I will give this a chance.
  • Manefit Beauty Planner Masks (2 sheet masks): This was so fun to get two sheet masks that count as one item. One mask is Astringent + Pore Care and the other one is Whitening + Brightening. Unfortunately I did try the Astringent + Pore Care one and though it felt nice on it left my skin very tingly afterwards so it might have been a bit strong for me.
  • Pixi by Petra Fresh Face Blush in shade Beach Rose: This blush has a soft rosy shade and is made with hydrating ingredients like Vitamin E. It’s really pretty and I liked the last Pixi brand items I tried, so I am excited about this blush.
Swatches of the ColourPop Lippie Stix in shade Glam Bag and the Smashbox Radiance Primer

Swatches of the ColourPop Lippie Stix in shade Glam Bag and the Smashbox Radiance Primer

Out of the items in this bag I really love the ColourPop Lippie Stix and Pixi by Petra Blush. The blush swatched nearly invisible on my arm, but on my cheeks it was a nice light rosy tint.

The Hanalei cleanser is a unique product I have never tried and I really like the chance to check out new items each month. The Smashbox primer has me a little skeptical due to my skin type but I love seeing this brand in my Ipsy bag.

Overall I think two items are amazing, one is neat to try (the powder cleanser), and two are so-so (Smashbox and the masks). I would say that is a pretty good verdict for my September 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag, but I think I liked my August bag better.

Did you get a glam bag this month? Let me know what you got in yours or what you think of mine!

Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Bold Lip Kit

Well it happened again. I bought yet another one of the Sephora Favorites Lip Kits! I cannot resist these little value sets. This one is the brand new Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Bold Lip Kit, and it has two full size items and 4 minis. It is full of bold hues for Fall and I really love that it isn’t a nude themed kit, since those never actually end up being nude shades anyways.

The new Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Bold Lip Kit

The new Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Bold Lip Kit

The Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Bold Lip Kit is $33 Canadian which I still think is a good deal. I would never purchase a full size lipstick for over $20, and honestly sometimes I won’t even go over $10. When I have so many colours and like to switch up my lipstick so often it seems silly to spend a lot on one full size when I can spend almost the same on a whole kit. And the kit comes with full sizes too!

The new Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Bold Lip Kit

Inside the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Bold Lip Kit

I love these sets for the fact that I get to experiment with different shades, formulas, and brands without committing to one expensive full size product. I got a lot of new to me brands in the recent Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip Kit, which had 15 items. In this smaller kit I have tried 3 out of the six products but in different shades, and the other three are totally new to me.

What lipsticks are in the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Bold Lip Kit? See below!

  • Nudestix Magnetic Matte Lip Color in shade Vino (full size)
  • Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in shade Liquorice (mini)
  • Bare Minerals Statement Matte Liquid Lipcolor in shade VIP (mini)
  • Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in shade K-Dub (mini)

Out of the above six products I have tried other shades of the Bite Beauty, Tarte, and Kat Von D items. I love the fomula of the Tarte Tartiest Lip Paints and have quite a few from mini sets or Ipsy bags. They have an amazing formula and stay on for hours. This shade, Wannabe is a deep brown matte hue.

I have a few Kat Von D minis from other sets and really like them as well. K-Dub is a super bright fuchsia colour which is a bit out of my comfort zone but would make a great statement look. Bite Beauty has a great smooth formula in Liquorice, which is a really nice deep burgundy.

I have never tried anything from Nudestix so this was super exciting to get a full size product. The shade Vino is perfect for fall and the formula of the Magnetic Matte Lip Color is really opaque and creamy.

I have been eyeing the new Too Faced Peaches and Cream collection so it was awesome to have a full size lipstick in the set. It does have a peach scent but it isn’t the same as the original Sweet Peach palette. This one is more sweet and light, almost like a peach gummy ring candy. The shade Drunk Dial is a bright and bold berry shade which I love for Fall.

The Bare Minerals liquid lippie is also new to me and is a classic red shade called VIP. The formula is thin and glides on nicely.

Overall I think that if you like bold and bright lip shades then the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Bold Lip Kit is a great option. It allows you to try new brands and colours at a reasonable price.
