25 Days of Beauty: The Next Five

Julep Blank Canvas Mattifying Primer

I recently posted about my first five products I picked for my own little beauty advent calendar for 25 Days of Beauty, and today I have the next five items. I already posted these on Instagram but this gives me a little more room to expand on the items and why I chose them. Let’s jump right into it!

Day 6) Julep Beauty Blank Canvas Mattifying Treatment Primer: I love how smooth and creamy this primer feels. It is super soft to apply and makes mys kin feel baby soft, and it keeps some of my shine away. It doesn’t get rid of it entirely, but it definitely helps the longevity of my makeup and keeping my T zone less shiny through the day and night.

Day 7) 7th Heaven Charcoal Peel-Off Face Mask: This mask helps to purify and detoxify skin, and I love the peel-off method. It leaves my skin feeling clear and refreshed.

Day 8) Too Faced Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation: I absolutely love this foundation, for so many reasons! It has a great colour match for me (Sand) and has a lovely formula, matte finish, and yummy peachy scent. I really like this foundation and feel like it lasts for hours and hours while still looking good and controlling my shiny skin.

Day 9) China Glaze Nail Polish in shade Snow Globe: This one of my favourite holiday/Winter nail polishes to use. I love the iridescent flakes of glitter and it looks amazing over all kinds of colours. It lasts for such a long time without chips and is an easy way to amp up a holiday manicure for a more festive look.

The Body Shop Shade Adjusting Drops

Day 10) The Body Shop Shade Adjusting Drops (Darkening): These darkening drops have been so helpful to me when a foundation is slightly off. I use this with a few different formulas and it never seems to alter the foundation, and it really works to help adjust a shade to suit my skin depending on the season.

These five products have been stand-out items in my collections and I wanted to include them in my own beauty advent calendar for my 25 Days of Beauty. There seemed to be quite a few face products in this batch. Have you tried any of these items? Leave a comment and let me know!

St. Patrick’s Day Leprechaun Nail Art

My freehand Leprechaun nail art for St. Patrick's Day!

My freehand Leprechaun nail art for St. Patrick’s Day!

Have you seen my St. Patrick’s Day rainbow pot of gold nail art yet? I did those a few days ago and then decided to follow up with another themed look today! This time I have St. Patrick’s Day Leprechaun nail art to show you, which I did freehand again.

I normally don’t go all out for St. Patty’s but I had the idea for these and I figured they were just too cute not to try!

For this look I used China Glaze 2030 as my gold, Zoya Veruschka for my green, and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Pumpkin Queen for my orange. The white of the leprechaun’s eyes was done with Essie Coconut Cove and the black on his eyes and hat was done with Orly Liquid Vinyl, which has quickly become a staple polish for my nail art looks.

Simple strawberry nail art

Today I have some really cute nail art to show you. I have often seen these nails on Pinterest and always wanted to try them myself, so I decided it was now or never. Just in time for summer I did some simple strawberry nail art, and I was surprised at how easy it was! The design looks a little tricky at first glance, and seeing all the amazing photos on Pinterest was a little intimidating, but this nail art look was actually really simple.

Feeling Tropical with simple Floral Nail Art

Last week I posted a zebra print nail art design for the #31dc2016weekly nail art Instagram tag, and this week I have another installment to show you. The theme for this week’s prompt was flowers, so I did a pretty pink and white floral nail art design. It took hardly any time at all but it looks really cute and tropical, which is perfect for a summer weekend!

You can see some of my previous nail art designs over on my Instagram account here!

What I used

The floral nail art I have to show you today was done with a MoYou London stamping plate. This plate if from the Tropical Collection and I chose a big Hawaiian flower to stamp. My base polish is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in the shade OMGhost, which is a crisp white. It took me two coats to get perfectly opaque white nails. I have recently become a big fan of white nails and left them plain for a few hours before adding my floral nail art on top.

The nail polish I used to stamp the flowers over my white base was China Glaze Winter Berry, which is a lovely berry red from an old holiday collection. I love this shade on my nails and will have to swatch it soon to show you. I promise it is a red polish in real life, but when I stamped it for my floral nail art it totally turned pink. I think it might be because it was such a thin layer used to stamp, and it was layered over a bright white base. Either way, the floral nail art design worked well with pink flowers so it still turned out fine even though I meant for it to be red.

I have actually used this MoYou London stamping plate for a different floral nail art look a few weeks ago, which you can check out here.

What do you think of my white and pink/red floral nail art? I like how tropical it looks and it makes me think of a Hawaiian vacation, which is nice to daydream about when it looks like I will have a few rainy days ahead of me.
